Batai Foundation; Who We Are
Batai Foundation is a youth-focused NGO based in Morogoro, Tanzania. We work to reduce inequality between urban and rural communities by empowering young people with knowledge, skills, and access to opportunities that help them shape their own futures.
Youth empowerment and skills development
We equip rural youth with practical skills, mentorship, and confidence needed to become productive, innovative, and self-reliant members of society.
Awareness on self-employment and entrepreneurship
We promote entrepreneurship by raising awareness on self-employment opportunities, innovation, and sustainable income-generating activities within local communities.
Community education and capacity building
We strengthen communities through education, training, and capacity-building initiatives that support inclusive development, participation, and long-term social transformation.
Bridging access to opportunities for rural youth

Our Programs
Our programs are designed to empower rural youth through skills development, entrepreneurship awareness, and community education, creating pathways to sustainable livelihoods and inclusive growth.
Rural Youth Skills & Empowerment Program
This program equips rural youth with practical life skills, vocational training, and mentorship to enhance employability, leadership, and self-reliance. Through hands-on learning and guidance, participants gain confidence to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute positively to their communities.
Entrepreneurship & Self-Employment Awareness Program
This program promotes entrepreneurship by educating youth on self-employment opportunities, innovation, and small business development. Participants are supported to identify local economic opportunities, develop business ideas, and adopt income-generating activities suited to their communities.
Community Education & Opportunity Access Program
This program strengthens communities by providing education, awareness, and capacity-building initiatives that support youth development. It also bridges rural youth to education, technology, networks, and opportunities traditionally accessible in urban areas.
